Is Kidd Pivot a Canadian Company?

Howdy!

Kidd Pivot Frankfurt RM got a nice review in yesterday's New York Times. I get a kick out of the line "East Coast premiere." And the fact that they dance to Voltaire... But why Montclair, NJ?

And in case you're interested a second (much longer) review by Tobi Tobias.

A fairly generic preview piece on Victor Quijada from the Bradenton Herald by January Holmes (shhh, don't mention the typo...) because RuberBanDance is going to be performing at the Ringling International Arts Festival Thursday through Sunday.

If there's a review, I'll post it here as well - but don't hold your breath.

Interesting Marketing by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens

Howdy!

It kind of jumped out at me as I walked out of the coffee shop where I hang out sometimes...

Les Grand Ballets Canadiens insert in Nightlife.ca magazine

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens had thrown some serious cash at Nightlife magazine (now rebranded to included the dot ca). Both an insert, and and fancy two-page advertisement with a card attached.

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens two page full color glossy advertisement in Nightlife.ca magazine

But someone needs to do some proof-reading for them, the insert offers discounts of up to 30%, while the card offers a discount of 40%. Hmmmm...

To that you can then add this way upscale video

Which, if I understand correctly is designed as a money making cash grab fund raiser for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. It appears to be aimed squarely at wealthy individuals who wouldn't want to associate with the hoi poloi. But what are the under 30s they are trying to target above, but the hoi poloi?

Hmmmm... We're going to have to keep an eye on this turn of events. It'll be interesting to see how this sudden surge in marketing works out.
