Do they have beds at Radio-Canada?

Because Marie Chouinard was interviewed on Sunday on a TV show there, and then again yesterday morning on the radio. Both interviews were under seven minutes long. Based around her being la Personnalité de la semaine La Presse/Radio-Canada, and in my estimation René Homier-Roy is a better interviewer than Louis Lemieux, although that's not saying much...

Despite having a page in Wikipedia that reads like it was written by a 12 year-old, Evan McKie is a Canadian dancer, and apparently a pretty gosh-darn good one as well. He came to my attention via this interview at the Ballet Bag.

Is Kidd Pivot a Canadian Company?
Howdy!
Kidd Pivot Frankfurt RM got a nice review in yesterday's New York Times. I get a kick out of the line "East Coast premiere." And the fact that they dance to Voltaire... But why Montclair, NJ?
And in case you're interested a second (much longer) review by Tobi Tobias.

Interesting Marketing by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens
Howdy!
It kind of jumped out at me as I walked out of the coffee shop where I hang out sometimes...
Les Grands Ballets Canadiens had thrown some serious cash at Nightlife magazine (now rebranded to included the dot ca). Both an insert, and and fancy two-page advertisement with a card attached.
But someone needs to do some proof-reading for them, the insert offers discounts of up to 30%, while the card offers a discount of 40%. Hmmmm...
To that you can then add this way upscale video
Which, if I understand correctly is designed as amoney making cash grab fund raiser for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. It appears to be aimed squarely at wealthy individuals who wouldn't want to associate with the hoi poloi. But what are the under 30s they are trying to target above, but the hoi poloi?
Hmmmm... We're going to have to keep an eye on this turn of events. It'll be interesting to see how this sudden surge in marketing works out.

But after writing about just about everything else under the sun (including two posts on the Visual Arts!) he finally gets around to hyping Sankai Juku who is the first performance in the Danse Danse series this year.
